SARS increases international import tax

Under pressure from the local retail industry, SARS has closed a major import tax loophole for international online retailers like Temu and Shein.

From 1 July, you will have to pay import duties and VAT on all imports, no matter the size. This will see a large increase in the cost of buying online.
